Using recycled rubber tiles has a positive impact on reducing the carbon footprint, since it reuses end-of-life tires and reduces dependence on virgin materials. By using recycled rubber instead of extracting and processing natural resources, the CO₂ emissions associated with producing new materials are minimized. It also keeps discarded tires out of landfills, where they can take decades to break down and release pollutants into the soil and water, and instead gives them a new cycle of use in practical, long-lasting applications.
This approach is aligned with the principles of the circular economy, which seeks to maximize the value of resources throughout their life cycle by encouraging recycling and waste reduction. By incorporating discarded tires into tile production, the need to manage large volumes of waste is avoided and a more sustainable manufacturing system is promoted.
In addition, recycled rubber tiles require less energy to produce than other conventional building materials, which lowers energy consumption and the associated greenhouse gas emissions. This energy efficiency in manufacturing reinforces their value as an eco-friendly option, since it means a smaller environmental impact from the very start of their life cycle. Adopting recycled tiles not only responds to the need for sustainable solutions but also actively helps mitigate climate change, supporting construction practices that respect the planet.
